Getting to Tata Tulum
Tata Tulum is located in the beach district of Tulum. If you are coming from the Cancun airport you can arrange a transfer before you arrive with Travel Yucatan. They will drop you right off at the hotel (or pick you up and take you back to the airport from the hotel). If you are coming from a hotel downtown you can take a cab to Tata. Don't pay more than 150 pesos.

Checking into Tata Tulum
Check in was easy and even though I arrived at noon (a couple hours before the room would be ready) I was able to access my room and settle in. That's always a nice surprise! If you are going to be early I always suggest emailing the hotel ahead of time.
The hotel property is small compared to other hotels I visited. A thin sliver of land from the road to the beach holds 7 three-story buildings, the restaurant, beachfront bar and around 10 palapas and chairs. They did a good job packing in a lot of hotel in a little area and it doesn't feel overly crowded.
The Room at Tata Tulum
While at Tata I was able to enjoy an Ocean Front Deluxe room and I absolutely loved it. The room had floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the ocean and a large king size bed that was nice and comfy. The bathroom was spacious with a gorgeous waterfall shower-head that actually had great water pressure!
Side Note: Does anyone else have a love-hate relationship with waterfall shower heads? They are all the rage but oftentimes don't give you any pressure. This one was different and had amazing pressure. Very nice after a long day by the water.
The room also came with bathrobes and all the expected amenities. I was happy to see bottled water came with the room as well. The room itself was also quite spacious and didn't feel cramped at all
My only complaint is also what I loved... the windows are huge and wide and cover the whole room great for views... bad for privacy. The rooms are close together so I did feel like I had to overt my eyes anytime I was walking around the property. Of course, the room comes with huge the thick curtains to block out the sun and prying eyes but when I did close them the room felt... off. I totally admit this is a super small complaint (and one with no solution) so it didn't hinder my enjoyment overall. Just felt like something I should mention.

WiFi at Tata Tulum
Absolutely no complaints here! WiFi is so important to me since I am always working while on the road. Tata Tulum Wifi worked perfectly and was extremely fast. I was able to check email, add to my insta story, and even stream Netflix.
Onsite Extras at Tata Tulum
Tata comes with a long list of extras including Palapas, board games, and even fun inflatables. One of their best features, for me at least, is Kindles you can borrow during your stay. Because I travel so light, I don't normally have a book on me. I was able to relax and read using their kindle which was awesome. I believe you can download books for free, but the kindle I had came with a book I had been wanting to read on it already. So I didn't test it out.
I also really like that they don't have normal beach chairs. Instead, they use these huge bean bag lounge chairs under the palapas. They are so incredibly comfortable. I can't get over it and now every single beach chair is ruined for me. Thanks Tata.
Dining at and around Tata Tulum
Breakfast came with the stay and it was delicious and filling. There is no indoor restaurant though, and I do wonder what happens on the rare occasion it is raining.
I ordered lunch while laying on the bean bag chairs under the palapas both days. The menu had plenty of vegetarian options which made me so happy. Everything I got was delicious and fairly priced.
Around Tata, there are tons of restaurants you can walk to. A super popular one called Posada Margherita was extremely close so I walked there for dinner one night. I don't recommend it because the service was horrendous and the food was good but overpriced. But if you want pretty insta photos it's a dream location. Every nook was made for Insta likes. Again though, there are tons of options around the hotel if you want to venture off Tata's property.
