Checking In & The Room at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
When you walk in the door to Kempinski Budapest their signature red lady greets you promptly and helps you check in and begin your stay. I had the pleasure of checking in with Eszter and she gave me tons of tips about the city and secrets to enjoying my time in Budapest. The personal touch was a welcome sight after my 8-hour bus ride to Budapest from Krakow.
My room at Kempinski was a superior room, it was quite large with a king bed, desk, & small sitting area. A large window lets in plenty of natural light and overlooked the rooftop garden. The bathroom was nothing short of perfect with a walk-in shower, tub, and large vanity.
Wi-fi at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
Wi-Fi at Kempinski was fast and easy to access. There was no additional price for the Internet. I easily streamed Netflix, answered emails and browsed the web at high speeds.
Extra Touches at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
There is a small guide in the room which gives you local tips from some of the hotel staff. This, along with the red lady's tips, made my stay in Budapest unique. I felt I saw a couple of spots I would have never discovered if not for their thoughtful guide.
Breakfast at Es Bistro and Dining at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
With five different dining options, there is something for everyone at Kempinski. Sushi lovers have the world famous Nobu. Hungarian cuisine (and breakfast) is served in the beautiful, and large dining room, ÉS Bisztró. Quick takeaway coffee, sandwiches, and cakes are available all day at the counter of ÉS Deli. The Living Room offers coffee and teas in a relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to get some work done. And lastly, Blue Fox Bar serves up delicious cocktails all night in what has quickly become a hotspot for Budapest nightlife.
I enjoyed an incredible breakfast in the spacious main restaurant, Es Bistro. The buffet reached all corners of the room with extensive offerings. Also included during breakfast were fresh honey, homemade jams, gluten free bread and a large menu of cooked to order dishes, which brought the breakfast from good to great. I especially loved the morning wake up shot brought to every table, which was a concoction of ginger, spinach, and honey.
When I walked into the hotel, I thought I had died and gone to heaven seeing the Nobu restaurant entrance inside the hotel. I was exhausted from my 8-hour bus ride and honestly thought I was hallucinating. I was even more excited to discover you can have Nobu delivered to your room, my anti-social self cheered, and I of course immediately ordered some food directly to the room. I don’t even have to tell you the sushi was delicious, it’s Nobu, you already know.
Area around Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
The Kempinski is in an amazing location on the edge of Deák Ferenc Square. The main metro lines are easy to access and there is even a local bus that stops right outside to take you across the river and up the hill to the popular attraction, Fishermans Bastion. The main shopping road is directly behind the hotel filled with high end brands and classics like H&M. Of course, there are way too many restaurants to enjoy walking distance from the hotel.
Onsite extras at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
During my 5-day stay in Budapest, Kempinski was my first hotel and I was go-go-go seeing all the amazing sights. I, unfortunately, didn’t take advantage of the many extras at Kempinski including the indoor pool, sauna, and gym. Well, let's be real, I wouldn’t have used the gym regardless. I did take a look around the facility and let's just say I still regret not indulging. If you stay here, pencil in some me-time and enjoy the spa and sauna. And the gym if you're into that sort of thing.
Final Thoughts for Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
I highly recommend staying at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest while visiting Budapest. A wonderful hotel with an amazing location and spectacular service will leave you thinking about moving to Budapest permanently.
