This weekend I got to hang out with some of my friends from Nashville. One of them was a NYC virgin and she was also here for her birthday!! Seeing NY through her eyes was an incredible experience. She looked like a kid in a candy store every time we turned a new corner. I cannot imagine loving the city so much from afar like she does and never coming here. She tried to explain to me how overwhelmed and happy she was at every big landmark we went to but her face said it all. I am so glad I got to spend so much time with her.
Food pictured: Barbuto in Meatpacking district. I am partial to this restaurant since I worked in the sister restaurant in Nashville but it is one of my favorites in the city. The staff is ridiculously friendly, Celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman is more often than not walking around mingling with customers and the food is simple and phenomenal.
Buvette in Greenwich Village. This place was phenomenal! They have small plates of french gastrotheque cuisine. Get the chocolate mousse at the end of the meal - you won't regret it. Also any restaurant whose second location is in Paris is an easy choice for me.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
